Compressor Building Erection

Compressor Building Erection

PROJECTS

Scope of Work

CCI provided concrete foundations and structural steel erection services for a new landfill-to-gas processing facility. The plant captures the methane gases from the Landfill and processes through a proprietary chemical processing system to produce clean, renewable natural gas.

The work packages included building foundations, slab-on-grade, and structural steel erection for two pre-engineered metal buildings. The main 8,500 SF pre-engineered metal building was erected over the four compressor skids to protect the assets from the weather elements and reduce overall noise decibels. The building system also included a 7.5-ton bridge crane to service the units for maintenance and repair operations. The second building was erected to support maintenance and operations activities.

With existing equipment interfering with traditional erection methods, CCI had to adapt and create solutions in the field to optimize crew efficiency. Part of our solution included modular field assembly for select structural members. Our crew connected columns, rafters and girts and installed as a complete section rather than the alternative method of installing each piece. This optimized the erection time and efficiency for the crew. In addition, reduced downtime for road closures and surrounding work activities throughout the plant.
