Scope of Work

CCI was selected to provide general contracting and self-perform construction services for two capital improvement projects at the Trombly Service Center in Detroit, Michigan. The first phase added a new 150’ x 60’ truck shelter. The shelter was a pre-engineered metal building system provided by Nucor and erected by our self-perform structural division. The second phase included developing a new 77,000 sqft. parking lot and site laydown area. Sitework included demolition of existing pavement and sidewalk, site balancing, utility excavation, and placement of aggregate surface.

In addition, concrete work included placement of sidewalks, curb & approaches, and a new driveway. All civil and concrete scope of work was completed by our self-perform civil team, offering our client greater control of safety, quality, and schedule performance. Furthermore, the area also includes new site lighting, security cameras, fencing with electric gate controls and power supply. The new expansion is now fitted out with 91 employee parking spaces, and 38,500 sqft. of parking/laydown for trucks & additional storage capacity.

Overall, the project was completed on schedule with a compressed timeline, allowing the owner to quickly optimize the space. In addition, all work was completed with zero incidents or quality concerns. With a proven track record completing several facility upgrades, our team has the experience and high performing teams to provide our clients with the certainty their projects will be completed at the highest level.
