Scope of Work

CCI was contracted by our OEM client to provide general contracting services for a new Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer (RCO) Upgrade. The new RCO Upgrade was part of a multi-phase expansion at the Louisiana Pacific (LP) – Houlton, Maine Mill. The Houlton Mill was converted from Oriented Strand Board (OSB) and Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL) production to focus on manufacturing trim & siding products. The conversion was completed to meet the high customer demand and chosen for its access to a sustainable aspen wood supply.

The scope of work included all civil & sitework and concrete foundations. The project was critical path to the overall expansion as it was tied to a planned fall outage. To optimize the project schedule, construction activities were executed in strategic phases in order to allow other contractors to gain access around the work area. The first phase included all layout, excavation, and site preparation, trenching for underground electrical & mechanical and installation of deep foundation piles. The second phase included placement of all concrete foundations, embedded steel, and anchor bolts. The third phase included asphalt paving, striping, and final site restoration.

With a rich history of completing shutdowns, expansions and retrofits across various industries, our team was able to demonstrate our experience and execute the project deliverables according to plan. LP is now equipped with a state-of-the-art environmental system that will reduce overall (Volatile Organic Compounds) VOCs and Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) from the facilities exhaust.
