Scope of Work
For nearly 30 years, CCI has been constructing and maintaining fuel handling process equipment for our energy clients throughout Michigan. CCI Industrial has long-standing blanket service contracts with several utility clients, supporting multiple locations. Over the years, our team has completed thousands of projects. From routine maintenance and planned outages to emergency repair services, our teams are equipped for the challenge. Key projects include multiple transfer chute replacements, dust collector upgrades, rotary car dumper repairs, conveyor belt splicing & repair, take up tower improvements, transfer house structural repairs, and CRPO & OWS environmental upgrades.
A recent project was the Tripper Gallery B, C & J structural improvements, where our team performed structural rehabilitation on three main sections of the Tripper Gallery. The scope of work included removal and replacement of several primary structural beams and replacement of existing carbon steel decking with stainless steel decking. CCI’s success in securing the project award was due to a detailed pre-bid means and methods execution plan. Due to the site constraints, traditional equipment or material handling could not be utilized. CCI’s plan included engineering and fabricating a custom monorail system to safely and effectively rig the steel in and out of position. Our value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) approach was instrumental in providing the plant with the confidence and assurance CCI could effectively manage this complex project safely.
In addition to the site conditions, schedule was critical to the overall outage plan. In order to maintain plant operations, the tripper car operations could not be shut down. The field team adjusted to the site demands through constant coordination and strict task planning. Our expertise working around live equipment enabled our team to complete the work safely without disrupting plant operations.
