Scope of Work
Ford Motor Co. launched several programs to re-tool and relocate existing process lines at the Kentucky Truck Plant. CCI served as the general installation contractor for the equipment manufacturer, self-performing the millwright & rigging scope of work and managing the electrical & piping subcontractors. The shutdowns which were scheduled during July & December, consisted of removing obsolete tooling, installing new kitted tools & automation and relocating existing cells for the tailgate, body sides and underbody systems.
CCI has a successful work history completing new installations and retooling projects for for our customer at both the Kentucky Truck Plant and Louisville Assembly Plant. This allowed our team to leverage existing labor and subcontractor relationships in Louisville, providing the most economical solution for the shutdowns.
Due to the critical shutdown timing, the projects were completed working around the clock to optimize productivity and eliminate any potential delays with the launch. Throughout the shutdowns, over 100 direct employees and subcontractors completed the work with zero near misses or incidents. In addition, the project team was able to complete the upgrades ahead of schedule, providing our client with more time to complete debug and commissioning. Based on a successful work history and quality service, CCI has maintained a long-term relationship with our client for over 20 years.
