B24 DVT Dynamometer Installation
Industry: Automotive

PROJECTS
Scope of Work
Our equipment installation team provided heavy rigging and precision installation services at a local testing facility. A new test room was modified to accommodate updated dynamometer equipment that is utilized for analyzing front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles.
The system included three lanes of dynamometer equipment including, stairways, guard rails, deck plating and support structure around the machinery. Due to the existing site conditions, several limitations affected the installation plan including, tight door openings and low head room constraints. In order to effectively establish confidence with the project teams, a rigging and installation plan was presented for safety protocols and step-by-step means and methods.
The plan included utilizing company-owned specialty rigging equipment and a detailed tandem lift plan. The first phase included offloading and staging the equipment with a 40-ton forklift and 75-ton mobilift. Once the machinery was staged next to the pit, the mobilift and a set of 200-ton gantry legs were utilized to set the machinery in the 8’ deep pit.
CCI’s rigging crew was able to accomplish the installation safely, while demonstrating strict adherence to the critical installation tolerances and specifications. Our millwright & rigging teams have experience working on some of the most advanced process equipment in the nation. Through effective planning, leadership and execution, facilities and owners are able to count on CCI for critical industrial equipment installations.
