Conveyor System Demolition

Conveyor System Demolition

Industry:  Heavy Industrial

PROJECTS

Scope of Work

Our heavy industrial client contracted our team to provide due-care asset recovery, conveyor modifications and demolition services of an existing fuel supply conveyor facility. The system is made up of the main feed conveyor galleries, transfer conveyors, discharge chutes, silos and a processing facility building. In order to separate the system from the main plant, CCI modified existing conveyors, fabricated and installed skirting and guarding and infilled floor penetrations where equipment was removed.

As part of the rigging and demolition plan, CCI proposed to perform due-care demolition of particular sections rather than traditional mechanical demolition methods. Cranes were utilized to rig and remove larger sections of structural steel and placed onto the ground. With adjacent structures near the impact zones, this method allowed our team to safely secure the loads without compromising the structures or disturbing shock sensors.

The project team worked closely with our customer regarding all safety and environmental requirements associated with demolition standards and procedures. Overall, the project was executed according to plan and on schedule.
