Pump Station Improvements
Industry: Water & Wastewater
Scope of Work
Under the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) Capital Improvement Plan, the Blue Hill and Freud Pump Stations completed several improvements on the existing process equipment. Changing out the outdated equipment was in critical path due to the urgency of restoring the pumping capacity in the Detroit region.
Serving as the self-perform rigging contractor, our team installed upgraded transformers & switchgears, designed & fabricated a new cable trestle and removed decommissioned transformers. To effectively control the overall pace of the project, CCI provided value by offering warehousing and heavy haul capabilities. By controlling the entire project, our team was able to manage the installation which avoided any disruption by a third party and maintained the critical path of the project.
The Blue Hill and Freud Pump Stations are now fully equipped to operate at peak performance during high demand conditions. Based on the performance and success of the job, CCI is managing several other projects across southeast Detroit.
