Flint Bishop International Airport (FNT) – Passenger Boarding Bridge Installation
Industry: Aerospace

PROJECTS
Scope of Work
The Flint Bishop International Airport (FNT) scheduled a multi-phase terminal expansion and renovation in 2006. Part of the project included replacing multiple jet bridges with updated technology and features. CCI was contracted by our client to provide self-perform equipment demolition and installation services.
The airport is currently served by three passenger airlines: Allegiant Air operates mainline service out of the airport, and regional services are provided by affiliates of United Express and American Eagle. The airlines offer passenger flights to 13 cities across the United States and includes a freight terminal used by FedEx Express.
The scope of work included removal and disposal of the existing passenger jet bridges and installation of the new bridges. CCI’s success in securing the project award was due to a detailed execution plan. Due to the site requirements, extensive project phasing was required to work around existing airline demands. CCI’s plan included engineering lift plans, developing detailed logistics & mobilization plans and sequencing plans.
In addition to the site conditions, schedule was critical to the overall construction plan. In order to maintain operations, the airlines needs took priority over the current construction activities. The field team adjusted to the site demands through constant coordination and strict task planning. Our expertise working around live operations enabled our team to complete the work safely without disrupting airline operations.
With industry leaders and craft specialists, we offered our client a turnkey solution and a strong commitment to safety and quality excellence. Our crew adapted to daily requests and delivered the project ahead of schedule allowing operations and other trades to fully optimize the construction duration.
