Scope of Work

The Trenton Channel Power Plant experienced an unexpected failure on the main stacker counterweight. The stacker, which is located in the fuel yard is a critical component for the supply operation, driving the project to a critical path shutdown. Our previous work history providing emergency maintenance and construction services for various process equipment leveraged our ability to secure the contract.

For over 20 years, CCI has served as a capital construction and maintenance contractor for DTE. With onsite crews, tools and equipment readily available, our team was in position for the critical turnaround. Our scope of work included the engineering, fabrication, material procurement and field installation of a new counterweight sheave. Throughout the planning and preconstruction phase, timing and execution was critical to the plant operations. In order to support the turnaround, field activities were completed on a 7-12 schedule until completion.

Our resources and relationships allowed us to quickly propose engineering and lift planning solutions as well as provide field crews within days of the request. As an experienced fuel supply maintenance contractor, our team offered DTE an economical repair solution with a reduced construction timeline. Overall, the team delivered a safe and successful shutdown and outage resulting in long-term relationships and repeat business.
