Scope of Work
CCI Industrial Constructors was contracted by our trusted client, Zenar Corporation to upgrade MST Steel’s existing overhead crane system. MST Steel is a leading precision steel processing and supply manufacturer providing high-strength, specialty and automotive-grade steel to leading organizations. With locations in Warren, Michigan, Roseville, Michigan and Bardstown, Kentucky, MST provides seamless logistics and delivery throughout the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Based on current operational demand, MST invested in upgrading their existing 25-ton overhead crane with a new Zenar double-girder 30-ton crane. CCI’s millwright/rigging team supported the upgrade with a turnkey replacement. The scope of work included disconnecting, transporting & scrapping the existing 25-ton bridge crane, installation of the new 30-ton crane, and start-up/commissioning support.
While operating in an active facility, logistics coordination and safety planning were instrumental in the overall success of the project. As experienced millwrights & riggers, our team was well-equipped with the proper tools and rigging to safely perform the lifts. Utilizing a 75-ton tri-lifter to lower & raise the cranes was the safest and most practical solution, ensuring greater control over the load in a confined location. Additional machinery included a 40-60 versa-lift and 40-ton rigger special to transport the cranes from the trucks to the plant location.
Crane systems are a critical component for manufacturing plants, warehouses, fabrication facilities and other industrial processes that depend on the efficiency of overhead lifts.
